For my independent reading for this part of the semester,I choose to read the book, "Go Ask Alice," by Anonymous. I choose to read this book because the title seemed very catchy to the eye. It reminded me of a book read before called "It happened to Nancy," by Anonymous. It turns out that it was both written by the same author! (: Also, since Edith was sitting next to me last friday, she recommended me this book since it dealt with teen problems. I for one have been dealt with problems and I'm curious to see other people's point of view. Based on what I know about this book, I'm hoping to expect my general view of the problems dealt with tenns to expand. Since, my opinion is just one outta millions, it's nice to hear from other people's experiences and expand my horizons in a topic.
I learned that the author is actually Beatrice Sparks. She is a psychologist and also a youth counselor to trouble youths and write "diaries" that relfect on the teenagers point of view as clear and accurate as she can. Surpriselingly, she was confronted by a mother of whom his son's sucidal story was told by Sparks for stating that she got the entire story as quoted, "inccurate." Shocked and repulsed, she demanded Sparks to stop working on the story but Sparks stood by her views and continued.
If I read 100 pages of this book every week, it'll probably take me a week to finish it (: Since I haven't reading lately, I'll just eat the book for i think...2 days? (: if it's interesting.
yeah,
